Save Clapham Fire Station: Last Chance Public Meeting to Be Held This Month
A ‘last chance’ for the Clapham Fire Station. A public meeting, where residents will have their say about the planned closure the Fire Station will be held later this month.
On June 17, the last day of London Fire Authority’s four month long public consultation for the future of fire services in London, there will be a public meeting at the Clapham library.
According to the London Fire Brigade, the closure will increase the time it takes a fire engine to reach an emergency by about four minutes - more than the time the cleaners in Lambeth arrive. This was announced by Leader of the Council, Councillor Lib Peck.
The really troubling fact is that the increase in the emergency response-time in Lambeth will be the greatest any borough will face.
